Kal Taran Guru Nanak Aaya... and wherever Guru Nanak went, They relieved people from the vicious cycle of  ignorance and guided them the path of the divine.

Gurudwara Mattan Sahib also called Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Anantnag) recites this glory of Guru Sahib Ji every now and then. This Gurudwara is built here in the memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji who visited this site during Their third udasi (missionary travels). Here, Guru Ji held discourses with Pandit Brahm Das and chanted Gurbani that is inscribed in the title of Salok Mahla 1 on Ang (holy page) 467 of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Hearing the message of Guru Sahib Ji, Brahm Das decided to follow the Guru's path. This Gurudwara is situated at a distance of 60km from Srinagar in Anantnag district, at an ancient town called Mattan.
